Why We Fell in Love with Micro-Weddings

During the “new normal” days of COVID, we wanted our couples to keep their dreams alive, not put them on hold indefinitely.
Since we’ve always worked with destination couples remotely, the shift didn’t disrupt our process. However, it opened the door for something new.
We created our micro-wedding and elopement packages, and very quickly, something became undeniable: a guest list of 35 feels completely different than a guest list of 350.
There’s space for real moments. Room to breathe. Time to connect with every single person in the room.
Planning these weddings was refreshing. Couples weren’t sweating the small stuff or chasing perfection, they were simply excited to celebrate love in a way that felt authentic.
We also noticed a beautiful shift: couples who canceled large weddings discovered their micro-wedding wasn’t “less than.” It was different, yes — and in many ways, deeper. The romance, emotion, and magic remain, even with fewer guests.
And with smaller guest lists, many couples chose to splurge intentionally: the higher-end florist they always wanted, the dream photographer, or a tasting-menu dinner. Quality over quantity became the standard.

More Venue Possibilities for Intimate Weddings

A smaller guest list unlocks unique micro-wedding venues that wouldn’t work for a 200-person event: an art gallery, a cozy restaurant with incredible food, a rooftop at sunset, a private garden, or a tucked-away space with personal meaning.
